A leading manufacturer of engineered process skids and industrial control systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Altamont, NY. This role interfaces daily with both engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver power and instrumentation solutions for commercial, industrial, and power generation clients.

The position combines office-based design with hands-on floor support, helping layout junction boxes, electric heater SCR panels, wiring schematics, and assisting assembly technicians with troubleshooting. This is mostly an in-house position with only 1 or 2 possible opportunities for travel during any given year to meet with a client in person.

• Develop electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and cabling layouts.
• Design electric heater SCR control panels, junction box mechanical layouts, and select components.
• Generate complete electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs) and purchasing specs.
• Provide active shop-floor support to assembly technicians, resolving instrumentation and wiring issues.
• Support occasional factory acceptance testing (FAT) and rare product commissioning at client sites.

• 3+ years of practical experience with electrical controls, instrumentation, and low-voltage power systems.
• Practical experience is weighted heavier than a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) but it would not hurt or equivalent military technical background (e.g., Navy Electrician’s Mate / Nuke EM / Engineering Officer).
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component selection.
• Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC) standards.
• Basic exposure to 2D AutoCAD (3D Inventor or PLC programming is a plus).
