The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of loading dock equipment, high-speed industrial doors, industrial fans, and related material handling systems at customer facilities. Working in the field, you will operate independently and alongside team members to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and light electrical systems while delivering professional customer service.
- Travel to client sites daily in an RDC service vehicle to install, inspect, maintain, and repair loading dock levelers, seals, industrial doors, and safety equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and low-voltage/electrical controls to isolate and fix equipment issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and recommend repairs or replacement parts to clients.
- Provide outstanding customer service by clearly explaining work completed, answering questions, and maintaining a professional demeanor on-site.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welders safely to perform equipment modifications or repair work.
- Complete digital work orders, log parts usage, and track job progress using RDC’s service management tools.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and company safety guidelines at all times.
