This company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Altavista, VA. Reporting directly to plant management, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the effective installation, operation, and maintenance of plant production equipment, utility/support systems, and facilities. This role provides daily direction and leadership to a team of 8 maintenance technicians in a high-volume, non-union manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will combine solid mechanical/electrical troubleshooting expertise with a constructive leadership style, driving continuous improvement, safety, and operational reliability across our blow molding production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and direct the daily activities of 8 maintenance technicians, establishing priorities and adjusting assignments as needed to handle emergencies.
- Support and enforce all established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies.
- Drive the continuous execution and improvement of the plant’s Preventative Maintenance (PM) program using SAP.
- Provide major hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting beyond the scope of operating staff to resolve machine deficiencies across 8+ blow molding lines (Wheels, Shuttles, and automated packaging equipment).
- Assist with tool crib inventory, parts purchasing, standardization, and maintaining accurate equipment repair histories.
- Collaborate with plant engineering and management to eliminate safety deficiencies and ensure facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Promote Graham’s "Blue Culture" by fostering constructive leadership, collaboration, employee engagement, and accountability.
