Job Description

This company, who has hired veterans in the past is seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join our team in Nashville, TN. They are a leading provider of integrated communication, physical security, and life safety solutions for healthcare, education, commercial, and government clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems, including access control, CCTV, VoIP, data networks, and sound systems. You will work directly with customers to resolve service issues prompt and efficiently while maintaining high performance standards.

This is a local field service role, with a company provided vehicle and they pay you for your drive time. There is some overnight travel but it is rare and you will know about it beforehand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to customer service-related issues and troubleshoot electronic components down to the system level.
  • Perform installation, testing, routine maintenance, and repair on integrated communication and security systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blue prints, CAD-generated prints, and riser diagrams.
  • Safely operate standard electrical test equipment including voltmeters, ohm meters, multimeters, and impedance meters.
  • Provide training and instructions to customers on proper equipment operation.
  • Accurately track time, service/installation tickets, and inventory.
  • Participate in a regularly scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Comply with all company and customer safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required (2-year electronics degree preferred) with 1–3+ years of hands-on technical/field experience in low-voltage, electronics, security systems, or military technical background.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of basic electronics/electrical theory; experience with CCTV, Access Control, VoIP, or data networks preferred.
  • Diagram Literacy: Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and riser diagrams.
  • Test Equipment: Proficiency using multimeters and related diagnostic tools.
  • Licensure: Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical field operations.
  • Certifications (Preferred): NICET, CAT1, RCDD, or relevant factory certifications are a plus
