The Shift Lead/Supervisor encompasses the staffing, supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of an assigned production team, while directly controlling multiple production operations at the Stamford, CT facility.
This position reports to the Site Manufacturing Manager and will be leading, coaching, mentoring, and training a team of 10-20 union production workers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely ensuring all phases of manufacturing are performed efficiently and effectively.
- Identifying and solving equipment or personnel issues; recommending formula, equipment, and engineering revisions.
- Maintaining open communication with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance, and Warehouse groups to meet production schedules.
- Coordinating publishing and database maintenance of process condition setup sheets; producing all shop floor paperwork for process orders.
- Administering on-boarding and long-term associate training; conducting performance appraisals and setting clear goals/expectations.
- Managing vacation schedules and shift coverage to ensure efficient staffing; coordinating with other Shift Supervisors for seamless shift turn-over.
- Keeping scrap production and product loss to a minimum while enforcing quality control and company policies.
- Managing SAP data entry and reviewing timekeeping in E-Time.
- Maintaining plant production areas in "Tour Ready" conditions at all times.
